1. How were the grades calculated?
a. Please email us at research@free2work.org for our scoring tool and feel free send us feedback.

2. Should I buy a product from a “C” company?
a. A “C” rating is a good rating according to our criteria and we encourage these companies to improve their transparency and empowerment of workers. Let the company know that you enjoy their products and expect them to make progress towards improvement.

3. Can you rate _______ product or ______ company?
a. Yes! We have a list of companies waiting-to-be-rated and your feedback helps us prioritize that list. Please send your suggestion by [feedback] and be sure to cast your vote on our survey. We do as much as we can with our resources; please be patient as we attempt to handle a large volume of requests.

4. How did you choose these companies or industries?
a. Our initial list of companies to rate was based upon top-sellers during the holiday season. We will continue to expand the list based upon site user feedback, top-selling products and companies’ own requests to be rated.

5. How can companies change their grade?
a. Getting graded is just one step in our process of engaging companies in dialogue. We send them information and invite them to submit additional data to us. The data will be used to adjust the rating tool; the revised profile and grade will be posted with a note of when it was changed and why.

6. What steps can I take to stop forced labor and child labor?

7. How do Certification Programs effect grades?

Normally Certification Programs will have a positive impact on a companies grade, however each certification standards varies on its ability to ensure forced labor, worst forms of child labor, and bonded labor are not occurring.  For more information on certification standards click here!
